11/8 Thursday

someone's been incautious with a match
because I saw the whole sky up in flames
and even hours afterwards there still
could be seen cinders dropping to the ground
out on the horizon I could see
the world's edge aglow and smoldering
I come inside but even there a moth
sails past me wings aflame and trailing smoke
