Goodwill

In parallel, existence may succeed,
Continuing through chance and willfulness,
To persevere and answer every need,
While prospering in context: a success.

Yet, something happens when, amid life's stress,
One party voluntarily assists
Another, struggling with a troubling mess:
Goodwill emerges, prospers, and persists.

Soon, every party whom goodwill enlists,
Contributing their strengths, receiving aid,
May find they're part of something which exists
To further all the lives of whom it's made.

And so, though selfish motives may survive,
Goodwill exceeds all greeds and helps us thrive.
